Clearing Sinuses With - the Sinus Buster Story
Sinus Buster is a capsaicin pepper based nasal spray for use in relieving the symptoms of sinus headaches and chronic sinus congestion. Sinus Buster was created by self-defense instructor Wayne Perry. Wayne had apparently suffered from severe chronic headaches, which he called cluster headaches. These headaches caused Wayne to have horrible pain.

Although the pain was terrible as the pepper hit him in the face, as he coughed and choked on the pepper spray fumes, he realized that his headache had completely disappeared and that his sinuses had opened up.

Quote:He suffered these cluster headache attacks several times a year while he was in his 20's but started having them several times a week once he turned 30. At this point he could barely perform his basic daily tasks. It was with great optimism that we started out on writing this composition on Sinus Buster. Please don't let us lose this optimism.

At this Point, Wayne Was Quite Worried about His Future and His Career
As a self-defense instructor, he was having difficulty performing properly. One of his favorite tricks was to give self-defense classes in front of live audiences and at the end of the seminar he would agree to be sprayed in the face with real police pepper spray. Patience was exercised in this article on Sinuses. Without patience, it would not have been possible to write extensively on Sinuses.

Wayne Went to Many Doctors and Had Multiple Tests to Determine What Was Wrong
The doctors prescribed different medicines for him but nothing seemed to work. Wayne assumed that his chronic sinus headaches were related to his sinus congestion that he harbored in one side of his head for many years. We have actually followed a certain pattern while writing on Sinus Congestion. We have used simple words and sentences to facilitate easy understanding for the reader.

He was able to land television spots on shows such as Montel Williams, Maury Povich and Oprah Winfrey.
One day when Wayne was doing a spot for a FOX News affiliate in his hometown, he came down with one of his cluster headaches.
Barely able to stand up and in excruciating pain, Wayne decided the show must go on.
He allowed the news reporter to spray the pepper spray into his face. :o
The Pain can be Almost Indescribable At Times
Whenever a sinus headache appears, most people have nothing on their mind but making it go away. Sinus headaches can flare up for any number of reasons but once they appear they tend to stick around for awhile. If you suffer from sinus headaches than I'm sure that you can tell when one is about to appear, even well in advance. A primer, however, it may be difficult to separate a sinus headache from a migraine headache without knowing the sinus headache symptoms. Here's how you can tell the difference.

Understanding what the sinus headache symptoms are can help you to get to the bottom of your problem. Treating a sinus headache as if it were a migraine would do you little good as it is really necessary for you to get to the bottom of the problem in order to cure it. Once you know that you have a sinus headache, you can treat it like a sinus headache.

Most Sinus Headaches Come on as a Result of a Sinus Infection, or Sinusitis
The following are sinus headache symptoms that accompany this particular type of infection. It's interesting to note, before we get into actually giving you the symptoms, that they do tend to come on in the morning when you first get up. The symptoms include a nasal discharge that is yellow or green in color, fever, persistent cough, a sore throat and fatigue. It is not surprising that the symptoms are actually often mistaken for a migraine headache all there are a few notable differences. It may take some time to comprehend the matter on Sinus Infection that we have listed here. However, it is only through it's complete comprehension would you get the right picture of Sinus Infection.

Sinus headache symptoms tend to be steady in nature, such as the pressure that you are feeling in your nasal passages.
A migraine headache will be throbbing or pounding, as it is often described, and typically gets worse whenever you bend forward.
Sinus headache pain also tends to stay steady, unlike a migraine headache, whenever exposed to light conditions and loud noises.
The Sinuses are Amazing Part of the Human Body
The cavities themselves actually are behind our cheeks and stretch way up into your forehead. They help to give our face its unique shape and protect our brain from blunt force trauma. All that is of little consolation, however, if you are suffering as a result of your sinuses. It was our decision to write so much on Sinus after finding out that there is still so much to learn on Sinus.

Paranasal sinuses are air-filled sacs present within the bones of the skull and face. These sinuses are located on either sides of the nasal cavity. There are four different types of paranasal sinuses in humans depending on their location. These include frontal, ethmoid, maxillary and sphenoid. All these types of sinuses are connected with the nose through narrow channels called ostia. Paranasal sinuses are helpful in providing shape to facial bones. However, the most important function of paranasal sinuses is to act as a resonance box or a sponge and prevent echoes that may reverberate in the skull when a person speaks. Other important functions include proper circulation of air inside the skull providing an air-conditioning effect, making the skull light in weight and helping in pronouncing nasal consonants. Smile

Symptoms of sinusitis are nasal obstruction, swollen nasal passages, pain around the eyes and cheeks, thick nasal discharge that is yellow or green colored, facial swelling, puffiness around the eyes, and pus formation in the affected area, cold and cough with sore throat. Symptoms of sinusitis are predominantly present during early morning hours and gradually reduce in the afternoon. Also, conditions such as damp weather, sudden change in temperature and cough can aggravate sinusitis. We have not included any imaginary or false information on Sinusitis here. Everything here is true and up to the mark!

Inflammation in the mucous lining surrounding the nose results in formation of thick nasal discharge. When the infection spreads to sinus cavities, mucus is formed within the sinus that gets drained into the nose through narrow channels. As the mucus thickens, it blocks the sinus passage resulting in fluid and mucus accumulation inside the sinus, a condition termed as sinusitis. Sinusitis can occur as a result of an infection in the upper respiratory tract, dental sepsis or an ear infection. Other contributing factors include changes in atmospheric pressure, swimming, environmental pollutants, prolonged exposure to cold temperatures, a facial injury, allergies, asthma, nasal polyps, nasal deformities, cleft palate and adenoids.

Properties of Biofilms
As mentioned, the scum layer produced by the biofilms seems to form a sort of protective barrier for the bacteria and other microorganisms it encases. The literature states that the bacteria in biofilms can be up to 500-1000 times more resistant to antibiotics than normal free-floating bacteria, and research is ongoing to determine the exact mechanisms to explain this. In addition, biofilms occasionally release a portion of their bacteria, and this discharge can migrate and cause infection at a new location. At present there are no simple methods available to test for the presence of biofilms, so it is not an easy task to determine if they are present in a patient's nasal system. The slime or scum layer looks a great deal like normal mucus.

Available Treatments
Some people suggest that nasal irrigation can be beneficial for people with biofilms, and this is certainly a good idea for other reasons as well. In fact it may be the single best thing that people with chronic sinus problems could do for themselves in the opinion of this author. Some studies seem to indicate that the only cure at present is debridement, or physical removal of the substance by an ENT. Again, we are in the early days of research into the theory, so it will be years before it becomes main-stream and other treatment therapies are developed and tested. If I were desperate with sinus problems and had tried every known therapy with no success, (including topical fungal therapy, which is also a relatively new approach) I think I would try to contact one of the medical schools at the universities that are doing research on this topic and see what I could learn or if I might be included in one of their formal studies. Among these are the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, West Virginia University in Morgantown, the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, the Universite of Montreal in Canada, the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, Cambridge in England, Dartmouth College, the Center for Biofilm Engineering at Montana State University, and the University of Edinburgh in Scotland, among others. I easily found extracts of papers written by all of these entities with a simple internet search on 'biofilms'. Once you are through reading what is written here on Sinusitis Patients, have you considered recollecting what has been written and writing them down? This way, you are bound to have a better understanding on Sinusitis Patients.

Status of Biofilm Research as It Pertains to Chronic Sinusitis
Research regarding biofilms and sinusitis is still in its early stages. Most scientific papers describing research into the subject have been attempts to prove the theory that biofilms are present in chronic sinusitis patients and that they are a factor in the condition. We are a long way from seeing studies that might test how beneficial a certain treatment might be, or even how an ENT could easily determine if a patient has biofilms in his nasal passages.

Conclusion Research thus far shows a strong correlation between chronic sinusitis and the presence of biofilms in the nasal cavities of chronic sinusitis sufferers. Much more research to prove the theory definitively and to see it become a main-stream diagnosis remains to be done. At this point people are not even talking about such treatments as nasal sprays or other medications. Sinus sufferers should at least be aware of the issue and keep an eye on what research is being reported, as well as irrigating their noses with a saline solution daily. As noted above, there are a good number of research labs studying all aspects of biofilm research around the world, both medical and non-medical, so hopefully we will have some day an answer to the question posed at the beginning of this article and be able to effectively treat the group of people who continue to suffer from sinusitis despite years of treatment and multiple surgeries that do not bring permanent relief. The title of this composition could be rightly be Chronic Sinus. This is because what is mentioned here is mostly about Chronic Sinus.

Imagine yourself not being able to appreciate the beauty of a new day'and being cranky enough not to get on well with your workmates' good-natured conversations'or not being able to join a special friend in a date --- All because of sinusitis!

There are different degrees of sinusitis, with different causes ' acute sinusitis is often caused by viral or bacterial infections of the nose, throat, and upper respiratory tract, or from an underlying dental infection. Chronic sinusitis may be caused by growth inside the nose, injuries to nasal bones, smoking and other irritating fumes and smells. Meanwhile, allergic sinusitis can be caused by hay fever, food allergies or poor eating habits.

First and foremost, we need to remember what foods may cause or aggravate our sinus problems.
Milk and other dairy products, sugars, fatty foods, lack of green vegetables are mucus-forming foods.
You must learn to control intake of these food groups if you are already at the onset of serious sinus infections.
Common food allergies like wheat, eggs, citrus, corn, and peanut butter may also cause sinus problems.
By knowing this types of sinusitis, we would also know what medicines we need to take, watch out our food intake and other activities that we could do in order to avoid getting sinusitis. It was at the spur of the moment that we ventured to write something about Sinusitis Medicines. Such is the amount of matter that is available on Sinusitis Medicines.

Natural Nutritional Approaches are Also Entailed
It's about time to drink plenty of liquids, especially water. A glass of lemon juice and water first thing in the morning may also help thin mucus. We have written a humorous anecdote on Sinus Pressure to make it's reading more enjoyable and interesting to you. This way you learn there is a funny side to Sinus Pressure too! Big Grin.

You are more used on vitamin/mineral supplements, here are several recommendations for immune system support: Vitamin C: 500 mg every two hours;
Bioflavonoids: 1000 mg per day ;
Vitamin A: 5,000 IU per day;
Beta-carotene: 25,000 IU per day;
Vitamin E: 400 IU per day ;
Zinc: 30-50mg per day.
